CORTIS Debuts Under BIGHIT MUSIC, Redefining K-Pop With Bold Originality

A New Era of K-Pop

CORTIS, the newest act under BIGHIT MUSIC, is set to redefine the K-pop landscape. The group’s name, derived from “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” reflects their ethos of originality and boundary-breaking artistry. With an average age of just 17, the members create their own music, choreography, and video concepts, positioning themselves as a self-driven force within the industry.

Meet the Members

Each member of CORTIS brings unique life experiences that shape their creative identity. Martin, the 17-year-old Korean-Canadian leader, draws inspiration from Tyler, the Creator and Mac Miller. James, 19, has a background in taekwondo, semi-pro hockey, and self-taught dance. Juhoon, known as the “brain” of the group, transitioned from modeling and academics to music. Keonho, the youngest, adds a playful edge with his competitive swimming past, while Seonghyeon, only a month older, rounds out the lineup as a versatile talent.

Debut Single and EP

The group’s debut track “What You Want” arrives with a music video based on concepts they developed during training. The single leads into their first EP, COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, releasing September 8. According to the members, the project embodies their creative vision rather than conforming to traditional K-pop structures.

Breaking Conventions

One standout element of their debut is the treadmill choreography featured in the “What You Want” video. Initially uncertain if it could work, the group embraced the challenge, turning it into a symbol of their commitment to experimenting and having fun. For CORTIS, breaking away from convention isn’t just a concept — it’s the foundation of their artistry.
