There’s a moment in every artist’s career when the grind turns into a declaration. For AL99, that moment is “SUPERDUPER.” Available now, the track is unapologetic, daring you to question it, and from the opening line — “Popped out feeling like a King.” AL99 makes it clear this isn’t a flex, it’s a coronation. Built on dark, cinematic trap production and a steady, chest-thumping tempo, “SUPERDUPER” carries the kind of boss energy that speaks to anyone moving with intention and hungry for their next level up.
“With ‘SUPERDUPER,’ I really had to sit back and be intentional,” shares AL99. “Most of the time, songs just come to me, but this one was different. I had to actually sit down and write something with purpose. After seven years grinding underground, I’m finally staking my claim".
Sonically, the record hits with heavy low-end, crisp hi-hats, and a hypnotic groove that anchors the track while AL99’s delivery rides the beat with controlled confidence. It’s modern trap with an old-school backbone — gritty and focused — and it’s already connecting with listeners, pulling over 70K views on YouTube, 35K streams on Spotify, and charting Top 10 on the DRT charts, earning AL99 a second plaque.
The music video doubles down on the track’s message. Shot in stark black and white, AL99 sits confidently in a chair that evokes throne-like authority, surrounded by his crew as they play poker and plot their rise. It’s king energy without the theatrics.
“Shout-out to the production team: Brittany Amaro, Shanx, and Ivo, they also handled the music videos for ‘POP’ and ‘WHY II,’ the last track on “Elevate”, highlights AL99.
“SUPERDUPER” lives on Elevate, AL99’s nine-track LP released January 9, 2025 — and yes, the number 9 matters. Born in ’99, AL99 has long been fascinated by the number 9: how it appears in music, math, and science. He was even born at 4:23 AM in September, which adds up to 9, all of which guided the development of Elevate.
“‘I took my best nine songs. It’s not a concept album in the traditional sense, but a narrative arc you can feel — you can listen to it in order and hear the shift, all about my career and journey of elevation,” explains AL99.
What separates AL99 from the crowded field isn’t just his versatility, although he has that in abundance with a catalog spanning R&B, Trap, Hip-Hop, and Soul. He’s also a true student of the craft: with a degree in Audio Production and Music Business from Scottsdale Community College (SCC), AL99 writes, produces, records, and mixes most of his own work. This combination of artistic skill and business savvy has allowed him to navigate the industry on his own terms.
In April 2025, he put that dual mindset into action, inking an exclusive distribution deal between his company, TPC Music Production, and Universal Music Group/Bungalo — retaining his masters, his copyright, and full creative control. It’s a blueprint for the modern artist: indie spine, industry reach.
“I just want people to know there’s a way that you can eat and do business, you can still be indie but still have industry support without giving up your copyrights,” adds AL99.
That same independence and control inform all of his work, and Elevate is no exception. The LP isn’t just a display of AL99’s production skills — it’s a platform for creative curation. ‘WHY II,’ for example, stands apart as a raw boom-bap meditation on self-reflection and social unrest, leaning into introspection over braggadocio, with AL99 probing questions about society and his own journey, all framed over a stripped-back, head-nodding beat produced by international producer B Noise.
“This is the only song I didn’t produce because I just loved the beat,” says AL99. “And the video’s back in my family’s hometown of BK with my family, so it’s going to be really dope.”
No performances are happening at the moment — although AL99 regularly hits key markets, he’s focused on developing his latest project. In the meantime, check out the single “SUPERDUPER” and its music video, dive into the full Elevate LP, and stay tuned for what’s next from AL99.
“SUPERDUPER” is now available on all streaming platforms, with promotional support from Starlight PR.
