Young Thug Returns to the Top 10 with ‘UY SCUTI’

Young Thug has made another powerful return to the Billboard charts, debuting at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with his latest album ‘UY SCUTI.’ The Atlanta rapper’s newest project opens with an impressive 52,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week, signaling yet another strong entry in his chart-topping career.

Of that total, 39,000 units came from streaming (translating to 54.3 million on-demand streams), while 13,000 units were attributed to traditional album sales and the remainder from track equivalent album units. The project marks Thugger’s ninth top 10 appearance on the Billboard 200, following his 2023 release ‘BUSINESS IS BUSINESS,’ which peaked at No. 2.

‘UY SCUTI’: A Cosmic Chapter in Thug’s Career

The album, named after one of the largest known stars in the universe, represents a new creative era for Young Thug. Combining his signature melodic trap style with introspective lyrics and experimental production, ‘UY SCUTI’ solidifies Thug’s ability to evolve while maintaining his artistic edge in an ever-changing hip-hop landscape.

His consistent performance across multiple chart cycles highlights his enduring relevance and influence within the genre, particularly in the age of streaming dominance. The project’s launch underscores Thug’s strong fan loyalty and his status as one of hip-hop’s most adaptive and enigmatic figures.

Other Notable Billboard 200 Debuts

This week’s Billboard 200 also sees a competitive lineup of major releases. Doja Cat enters at No. 4 with her new record ‘Vie,’ pulling in 57,000 equivalent album units — including 31,000 from streaming (40.62 million on-demand plays) and 26,000 from pure album sales.

Meanwhile, Mariah Carey makes history yet again as her latest album, ‘Here For It All,’ debuts at No. 7 with 47,000 equivalent units. Carey becomes only the third woman in music history — following Madonna and Shania Twain — to earn a top 10 album in four consecutive decades: the ’90s, ’00s, ’10s, and ’20s. The release also marks her 19th career top 10 album, placing her among the all-time greats.

Rounding out the new entries, Olivia Dean makes her Billboard debut at No. 8 with ‘The Art of Loving’ (43,000 units), while P1Harmony’s ‘EX’ lands at No. 9 with 40,000 equivalent units — marking another strong showing for K-pop acts on the chart.

Chart Leaders and Returning Favorites

At the top of the Billboard 200, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack claims the No. 1 spot this week, followed by Morgan Wallen at No. 2 and Cardi B at No. 3. Bad Bunny completes the week’s top 10 with ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos,’ sitting comfortably at No. 10.

With ‘UY SCUTI,’ Young Thug not only maintains his stronghold on the charts but also reaffirms his place as a fearless innovator in modern rap. Each release feels like an evolution — and this one burns brighter than ever.
