ROCKET signs with PennyFly Entertainment Marking A New Era Of Artist-Record Label Partnerships - Elite Music News

After pounding out the circuit for over 10 years and embodying the quintessential example of what it takes for a band to persevere and ascend independently, Los Angeles band ROCKET has signed a new record deal with PennyFly Entertainment. Coining the genre “Punk/Pop,” the 5-piece band is made up of members Janelle Barreto (Vocals), Eric Wibbelsmann (Guitar), Steve Kilcullen (Guitar), Trevor Snow (Bass), and Paul DePatie (Drums).

ROCKET have been heralded by playlisters, radio stations, and magazines, and have supported many notable acts, including Alien Ant Farm, Missing Persons, Bow Wow Wow and Puddle Of Mudd. CBS Los Angeles gave their stamp of approval, stating ROCKET was one of “the best bands to catch” live. Their latest singles continue to be widely praised, recorded with Grammy nominated Producer Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Pink). ROCKET’s rapidly growing fan-base has also caused the music community to take notice with numerous features and write-ups:

“Expect ROCKET to knock your socks off and continue to put you in a mood to groove and let loose. Listening to their music will give you a modern take on the era of The Offspring, Paramore and No Doubt when music was more than just a dance on social media. Here at CELEB, we have missed music like this…” ~ CELEB Magazine

“There is a reason Rocket is getting so much attention in the LA rock scene and it’s about time the rest of the nation takes notice as well.” ~ Clayton Edwards, Slickster Magazine

“You know what happens when you put a talented band together with a Grammy nominated producer? Well, most of the time they make some pretty amazing tunes and ROCKET is no exception. The musically well endowed LA 5-piece got together with Mark Needham of Imagine Dragons, The Killers, and Pink fame and the results were simply staggering." ~ J.S. Moses, Indie Current Magazine

“[ROCKET’s single “Fading Out”]…has all the makings of a punk anthem that adolescents sing at the top of their lungs.” ~ Petar Petrov, Living Life Fearlessly Magazine

Needless to say, all of the industry “buzz” garnered ROCKET the attention of PennyFly Entertainment, a record company and boutique marketing agency that sets itself apart from the traditional music industry paradigm. With a “by Artists for Artists” business model, PennyFly offers artists flexible deal terms with access to the same critical music industry channels and professionals as the majors, allowing artists significantly greater profit and control over their career. At the heart of PennyFly’s philosophy lies a sincere dedication to empowering musicians.

Label founder and president of PennyFly, Jett Prescott says of the deal,

“I remember getting a message from Augustus, one of our A&R reps, and it was all about ROCKET -- it was refreshing to see a contemporary pop/rock vibe blending so well with everything that punk stands for. We were drawn in by their live energy right away and could tell the band had a clear vision…they’ve done a great job of developing their sound and brand in ways that are both fun and exciting. They’ve been making music together for a long time which shows a level of authenticity and passion that is hard to come by.”

ROCKET’s signing with PennyFly marks a new era for the Artist/Record Label partnership in the music industry, and an exciting next chapter for the band.
