Some songs capture a sound. Others capture a feeling you never quite found the words for. On his new single "Signs," soul and R&B artist Rdjarrel does both, wrapping one of love's most universal moments in warm, unhurried melody.
Born Ritesh Raghu in the Netherlands, Rdjarrel has been building his catalog since his first studio project dropped in 2012. Over more than a decade in the game, the singer, songwriter, and producer has carved out a lane defined by passion, perseverance, and a deeply personal approach to his craft. Inspired by legends like Michael Jackson, he grew up captivated by Urban Soul and R&B, and those influences run through everything he creates. Nearly every part of his music, from the writing to the production, is handled by Rdjarrel himself. "It hasn't always been easy, but I constantly push myself to keep going," he says, and that independence has become one of his greatest strengths.
The milestones speak for themselves. Rdjarrel has collaborated with artists such as Bizarre from D12 and Joell Ortiz, been featured in XXL Magazine, and landed coverage in The Hype Magazine. He watched his face light up a digital billboard in New York's Times Square, and this year he received an iTunes R&B Chart plaque. For many artists, any one of those moments would be a career peak. For Rdjarrel, they are simply proof that he is on the right path. "I'm focused on continuing to grow as an artist and staying true to myself," he shares.
That growth is on full display with "Signs." The record explores the delicate space between hoping and knowing, that stretch of time when you have strong feelings for someone but no idea whether they feel the same. Then the little things start to appear. A smile that lingers. Eye contact that means something. A connection you cannot explain when you are in the same room. "Signs" lives in the moment when hesitation begins to turn into hope, and you start to believe the answer might be yes.
Sonically, the single carries the warm, relaxed, romantic feel of nineties and early 2000s R&B, but Rdjarrel takes it somewhere new. For the first time, he blends that classic sound with the soulful textures of his Indian and Bollywood roots, and he even sings a few lines in Hindi, making the song feel more personal and connected to his heritage than anything he has released before.
The music video marks another first. Rdjarrel created the visuals using AI, a creative decision that allowed him to go beyond what he had originally imagined for the record. The music itself remains completely authentic. Every instrument and vocal was recorded during live studio sessions, with AI used only to bring the visual world of the song to life.
And there is more on the horizon. Rdjarrel is currently preparing his upcoming album, which he promises will arrive with some special visuals of its own.
"Signs" is available now on all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. To stay connected, visit his official website and follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
