A New Anthem for Chainsaw Man
Just days before the Japan premiere of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Kenshi Yonezu has unveiled the official music video for “IRIS OUT.” The track is one of two theme songs written and performed by the acclaimed singer-songwriter for the highly anticipated anime film.
Sound That Mirrors the Chaos
Clocking in at just over two and a half minutes, “IRIS OUT” blends a ragtime-inspired rhythm with techno accents, layered vocals, and playful yet frenzied piano riffs. The result is a soundscape that feels chaotic, kinetic, and dangerously electrified—mirroring the cinematic impact of Reze, the film’s pivotal new character.
Symbolism in the Title
The song’s name references the classic “iris-out” film effect, where the screen narrows into a darkened circle before fading to black—an apt metaphor for the intensity of Denji’s obsession and the dangerous allure of Reze.
